Linton House is a large, early 20th Century, Victorian warehouse in North London. A family run building, it’s previous life as a textile factory and war-time airplane component manufacturer, have informed the unique character of the building.
An internal refurbishment and roof-top extension will form 57 new premium homes with a view over the city. The mixed use development will also accommodate a gym and commercial activity to the ground and lower ground floors.
A glazed box will sit atop the existing roof to form the penthouse extension, creating a new horizon at roof level. The existing parapet is to be reconfigured ensuring the street-scape is maintained intact, while movable bronze screens will maintain the proportion of the brick façade below. The landscaped terraces and roof-garden above, will provide a space for connect to the city and beyond.
